  1. We have a Whirlpool Fridge, makes more of a knocking sound. It has done so for over a year. Everything works just fine. It happens every so often, not really close in terms of time between episodes. Is it that something may be loose underneath?

  5. Hi Bill ! Your videos are AWESOME ! I'm working on an older ice maker, no water during the cycle...Installed a new module ( are they pretty much generic ?They look exactly alike for many models..).. Did jump tests at the module, got water at that jump and cycling at the other, but no water during the cycle...Poured a little water into the ice maker, a bit later I heard the "plunk" of ice being ejected... Unit cycled but again, no water...Any ideas ???? THANKS ! Ed

  6. hi-
need help with ice maker. The water dispenses from front of fridge but doesn't appear to be filling the ice maker; nor does the ice maker go through its cycle with the drum empty.; It is frigidaire - can provide model numbers of fridge and icemaker if needed; I replaced solenoid and checked the green tube/hose in back that connects to back of fridge- clear and not frozen. I don't understand why the water isn't filling into the ice maker nor why it isn't spinning. I have tried to thaw ice maker and to spin the gears. I would replace ice maker to troubleshoot but since no water is even getting to the unit it seems pointless. Thoughts?

  9. how to remove the cover over the thermistor in a frigidaire model LECR23EFE0 side by side. also where is the thermistor located in the freezer compartment

    1. There are two thermistor sensors on a frigidaire model LECR23EFE0 side by side. One is in the refrigerator and the other is in the freezer. The one that is in the refrigerator compartment is on the underside of the thermistor/sensor cover, part number # 1037609.

The cover is approximately ~2" x 1 & 1/4" two legged plastic table. it is located about a third of the way down the back wall, more on the right side ~3" from the right side.

The thermistor sensor is affixed/snapped onto the underside of the cover. The the two legs of the cover are snapped (popped) into the inside back wall of the refrigerator compartment.

To get at the sensor to test or replace it: Hold the cover firmly and pull the botom right corner towards you until the leg that securs to the refrigerator is free and then do the same with the other leg located on the top left corner of the small plastic cover.

WARNING THE SENSOR wires and connector are attached to a wire that comes through the back WALL OF THE REFRIGERATOR AND SNAPPED ONTO THE UDER SIDE OF THE COVER PIECE. WHEN REMOVING THE COVER, DO NOT PULL SO HARD THAT YOU PULL THE WIRE OUT OF THE WALL, damage the connector OR TEAR THE WIRE ITSELF.

once the cover piece is removed turn it over and remove the thermistor sensor from the clip and disconnect it from the lead it is attached to.

The thermistor sensor that is located in the freezer compartment is well hidden

  10. I am workingon my frigidaire model LECR23EFE0 side by side, it started freezing up. I replaced the defrost thermostat and the main control board. the defrost heater works and I can start the defrost cycle manually but it still will not go into the defrost cycle on its own. I am guessing at this point that it must be one of the thermistor sensors, iam not certain but I think there are two one for each cabinet.

I also have a replacement electronic Control, but I think that the electronic control is not the problem.

Does anyone know exactly what is the problem?

    1. Having replaced the following parts:
defrost thermostat; the main control board; both thermistos

also after testing the continuity of the following parts:
the defrost heater, thermistor sensors (still I replaced both thermistors) and the defrost thermostat in the freezer compartment to be certain all work and they appear to be in working order. I am still in the same predicicament my defrost cycle will not self-start.

The only help provided from the "experts" is help spending my money on unnecessary parts

  11. (ignore this if you found my youtube inquiry) thanks to you ive done & enjoyed several repairs!(kenmore series80) now its a 'no spin' situation
dull electronic noise only, no previous tranny sounds. replaced pump & coupler in the past.cllutch & brake release appear exc. cond. but spline shaft & coupler area can be spun INDEPENDENTLY from one another, is this normal? i know there are plastic gears in there.
im bummed if its a bad trans., but your vid's almost make it fun! if only cars were built this way, durable & rebuildable!

  13. Odd situation with Maytag gas stove. When I try to light the back left burner, gas is coming out, but there are no sparks on any of the burners. However, when I light the front left, which works properly, the back left burner (which doesn't work) will spark. So clearly there isn't a problem with the sparking mechanism. Ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  16. I have a kenmore table top electrostatic air cleaner. Recently there was a power outage, now the blower fan won't work. There is electricity getting to the cell [both red & green light on; one is for power, other is for ionizer], however the fan barrel that blows out the clean air won't engage (doesn't turn). I've taken the cell out, & the fan should turn loosely but is slightly stiff. It's been guesstimated by the manufacturer that the fan motor has shorted out, or the grommet bearing in the air cleaner has ceased [this prevents the fan from turning]. I have inquired about repair & told it would be $200 for a technician or replace the unit. Both these options are LUDICROUS if it's merely a bearing. Please advise...I'm not a cash cow, I live in poverty & this was a health device to assist with air quality because I have extreme allergies.

  17. I have a 20 year old Frigidaire side by side refrigerator/freezer. Lately the refrigerator keeps tripping the circuit box about every 8 hours. When the circuit breaker trips, I wait an hour to reset the circuit breaker. The refrigerator/freezer works fine after being reset and after 8 hours more or less the circuit breaker trips again. I have reset this about four times and the same thing happens. The circuit breaker trips again after 8 or more hours. What seems to be the problem. The refrigerator is located in the garage.

  19. Hello bill , had a quick question , I have a lg electric stove has no knobs its all digital. I had one of my range elements go out after I tested the element found that element was still good, and now a week later all mt range elements aren’t working, was wondering if maybe the range oven control board is bad or maybe the relay control board?

  22. Kenmore Stove

    Model 79094243311

After using self clean feature, gave error F15
    and the door was locked.
I held the stop button, twice, for 3 seconds.
Now I have error msg OPN. Door still locked.

My research says, the clean feature over heats the control board.
I unplugged the stove for an hour. Plugged in, door opens, but
still have error OPn and oven won’t start because it thinks the door is open.

Is there a fuse link, door censor, or micro switch that will help.
    A $250 board just isn’t worth it. Thx !
